NEW! Burnt Cedar ... Yakisugi
- Burn it and make it last.
Today’s latest trend in custom wood finishing is an ancient Japanese art, Shou Sugi Ban, also called Yakisugi. Cedar wood is charred to give it a beautiful and long lasting charcoal black finish while still showcasing the grains.
The burning process seals the wood making it weatherproof and bug, rot, and fire resistant for up to 80 years. The cost savings are huge as there is no refinishing, no repainting, and any necessary repairs are quick and easy.
Yellow and Red Cedar bridge
- A Feature for a Japanese Garden
This Edge Grain bridge was a special order for a customer in Vancouver. The challenge of this project was the sheer size of the cuts and boards to handle.
After we finished this project, Ed build another bridge for his own garden.
